HAVE A CUP OF BUTTERMILK....

ayurveda says, Buttermilk is sweet, sour, and slightly astringent in taste. Easy to digest & stimulates agni .It is beneficial in patient of ascitis, IBS, piles, anorexia & diarrhoea.

It should not be given in case of wound, debilitated persons & fainting, giddiness, burning sensation & disorder of Rakta & Pitta. It should be avoided in hot season.
It is advised that buttermilk should be use in cold seasons, beneficial for weak digestive power & diseases caused Vata & Kapha. It cleanses channels & such as useful in obstructive disorders.
In Vata condition, sour buttermilk should be taken mixed with rock salt. In Pitta condition, sweet one with sugar & in Kapha condition, it should be added with trikatu ( dry ginger, black pepper & piper longum) .
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Americans notes that an 8 oz. serving of buttermilk contains 284 mg of calcium, which is roughly the same as an equivalent serving of whole or skim milk. Dairy products, such as buttermilk, are rich in calcium and can help you meet the 1,000 mg daily recommended intake of calcium. Calcium contributes primarily to strong bones, but your nerves, muscles and heart all also require calcium to function properly. A lack of proper calcium in your diet could lead to osteoporosis. Thus, incorporating buttermilk into your recipes helps you and your family stay healthy.
Buttermilk boasts an impressive range of vitamins conducive to your overall health. Vitamin B-12, vitamin B-6, vitamin A, vitamin C and folate are all found in buttermilk. Vitamin B-12 increases the health of red blood cells while vitamin B-6 promotes neurological development and assists the body in building proteins. Vitamin A helps keep your skin and hair healthy, vitamin C allows your body to absorb more iron from food and folate helps prevent birth defects.
The Harvard School of Public Health Recommends that adults receive 8 g of protein daily for every 20 lb. of body weight. Like the protein found in meat, dairy protein is "complete" protein. Thus, it contains all eight essential amino acids needed for growth and development. In addition to a range of other nutritional benefits, each serving of buttermilk contains 8 g of protein.
so, have a cup of buttermilk & have healthy life.

“Water is life's mater and matrix, mother and medium. There is no life without water.
Ayurveda says water is amrita i.e.nectar . On Earth 70% water is present same rule applies to our body.Water is dietary regime from birth. 1/2 boil down water is best for decreasing  kapha, aam , vat & meda. it is dietary regime in fever, cough , asthma & cleanses basti. But don't use stale water. Always prepare fresh.

Utterly Butterly Delicious...

While reading this line, you must be thinking of butter.Yes today we are going to discuss about butter.
Butter is the part of our food from ancient times. Indians have been eating butter from thousands years. In India butter is called as Makhan or Navneet. We offers makhan mishree to our dear lord Krishna.
The traditional method for obtaining butter is from dadhi ( yogurt).Yogurt prepared from cow's milk is best source of butter.Butter is good for children & old people. It mitigates vata & pitta, good for heart, cures duodenal diseases, piles, facial palsy, kindles hunger. In taste it is sweet slightly sour & astringent , cold in nature, easy to digest, memory enhancer & aphrodisiac& good for eyes. Of course these are qualities of fresh butter.
Butter obtained from buffalo's milk is heavy to digest, aggravates vaat & kapha, increases fats, it decreases burning sensation & fatigue, mitigates pitta.
Stale butter is sour, bitter & slightly salty in taste, causes nausea & vomiting, aggravates piles & skin diseases, heavy to digest & aggravates kapha & fats.It is unhealthy.
Butter available in market, since it is stale is hardly to say healthy. It can create problems. It should be avoided by the persons having skin diseases, obese & having weak digestive power. So use homemade butter & think twice before eat readymade butter.

Somewhat 2 days ago, I was reading a diwali magazine in which  i read an article by an ayurvedic doctor Mrs Jyoti Mundargi at Pune.It was best one. She wrote, one day she accidentally found a lump in her chest. She became pensive. She went to the gynecologist . He asked for biopsy . Biopsy report was upsetting, malignant one.she collapsed, then  she thought wisely& she decided to take ayurvedic treatment . She denied surgery. After 2 -3 months, complicated cysts were dissolved. She continued treatment & then simple cysts were also gone. She is healthy now.Her faith to ayurveda helped her. Ayurvedic medicines helped her to remove toxins from her body.
This is very exciting  & encouraging to all vaidyas who have faith in ayurveda.

Bye Bye Allergy!

Hi friends, are you suffering from allergic rhinitis /common cold(sneezing episode at morning & running nose)? Are you frustrated by using anti allergic drugs? Waiting for simple solution?
Now here is answer. Put 2 drops of warm sesame oil in each of nostrils before leaving home.
According to Ayurved, it is Vataj type of rhinitis and the best treatment of Vata is oil. Sesame oil is the best in all. Oil application through nose causes a coating of oil all over mucosa, which inhibits contact of allergens & lowers irritation of nasal mucosa.
So, do it & say bye bye to allergy.
