According to Indian tradition, eating isn’t only a work to complete; it is important task to do. It is not only filling your stomach, it is a holy work like yagnya
When we are taking a bite , it is offering to digestive fire . Ayurveda tell us how, what & when to eat. So it is an art.
- You should take bath before to have meal
- Change your cloths & put the clean one
- Pray the god, all religion follow this thing, it is important to say thanks before eating because it makes your mind altruistic.
- Take your repast, after well digestion of previous one
- Food items should be eaten in this order – fruits, liquids , soft , hard
- As Madhur Rasa is heavy to digest , desserts should be first to eat , then sour & salty & last bitter & spicy one
- Food should be always fresh & warm, it is easy to digest
- It should contain proper amount of good fat, it helps in digestion
- Food should be eaten in proper quantity , excess or absence of any constituent harms your health
- Place of dining should be pleasant
- Food shouldn't be eaten fast or slow
- While taking meal , avoid laughing & chatting
- You should take your meal with happy & concentrated mind
- Eat according to your constitution & occupation
- You shouldn’t eat full of stomach , it causes indigestion
- Avoid too chilled food/ drink with supper
- Eat what is favorable for you
- After lunch , take 15 min rest & after dinner a short walk is must
- Eating in between time should be avoided
- Water should be taken in sips between meal , not in excess
- Late night dinner should be avoided
- Avoid incompatible food
